Karamo Brown, one fifth of the 'Fab 5' in hit Netflix reboot Queer Eye, has just signed his first modelling contract.

The 37-year-old has joined the books at Wilhelmina Models, and shared the news via an emotional video on his Instagram account.

'I was literally crying before this video,' he wrote.'I have been told so many times that my skin was too dark, nose too big or that I just wasn't good enough. And I never stopped believing in myself.

'And today this happened! I guess all those moments in my mum's living room pretending to be Naomi Campbell have finally payed off. Feeling humble and blessed.'

Netflix's Queer Eye - a reboot of the original noughties series, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy - sees five gay men giving lifestyle advice to a worthy participant every week and has become an instant international hit since airing earlier this year. Brown is the show's resident 'culture' expert (which is essentially the show's therapist), meaning that he's responsible for some of the most moving moments in the series. His fellow 'Fab 5' consist of food and wine specialist Antoni Porowski, interior designer Bobby Berk, grooming consultant Jonathan Van Ness and fashion designer Tan France.
