Netflix has revealed the premiere date for its new dystopian drama series The Rain: the show will launch on May 4 worldwide. Get your umbrella ready!

The Rain picks up six years after a brutal virus carried by, wait for it, rain water wipes out almost all humans in Scandinavia (and presumably the world?). It follows two Danish siblings as they emerge from the safety of their bunker to find all remnants of civilization gone, and very few other survivors. They set out on a danger-filled quest, searching for any sign of life, and maybe also some fresh snacks. Guess what happens along the way though — it rains! And that's bad!

A brief trailer was released alongside the date announcement, and you can watch it below:

The one-minute trailer teases the destruction of the pre-virus world, before the survivors come together to, you know, keep on survivin'. It also comes with the warning, "Stay dry, stay alive", which we're sure will prove to a problem for at least some of the group as the series progresses.
