Last month, rumours began doing the rounds that the power couple known as the Carters were planning to drop an album on us. We allowed ourselved to get a bit excited – sure, it was only whispers, but just IMAGINE. But now we're about fit to burst as more hints emerge, with a source telling The New York Post's Page Six that the couple are now 'secretly recording together and plan to release a surprise album later this year or early next year.' And while we won't get any warning in the run-up to the release, reports claim that when it lands it will be accompanied by 'simultaneous videos and even a movie.'
Bey-Jay: The Movie? THIS NEEDS TO HAPPEN.
Word first started spreading in September after the couple wrapped up their On The Run tour in Paris (where, just to chuck another rumour on the pile, Jay Z hinted that Bey could be expecting baby no.2 by rapping: 'Cause she pregnant with another one'). US radio host DJ Skee claimed a joint album was in the works, saying: ‘I have confirmed and talked to a couple of sources.’
Pretty darned exciting news, and surely just the start – it can’t be long before Blue Ivy is old enough to get on board, too? We’re thinking the Carter clan = the Von Trapps of rap. Can’t wait.
