Wands at the ready – JK Rowling and Warner Bros have confirmed that the spin-off Harry Potter story Fantastic Beasts And Where to Find Them will become a film trilogy. Excited? Us? Well obviously.

The three films will be based on the New York-set story which follows "magizoologist" Newt Scamander, author of compendium Fantastic Beasts And Where to Find Them, which 70 years later becomes a textbook at Hogwarts. This is the first time that JK Rowling will have full screenwriting credits.

There is no word yet on whether the original cast will return, but we’re keeping everything crossed that Harry, Hermione and Ron at least make cameos - Emma Watson has previous said she would 'definitely be up for it.'
