Yesterday, Rihanna received 8 Grammy nominations for Anti, but to the outrage of the Navy, none were in the Album of the Year or Song of the Year category. Some believed this was because the Recording Academy didn't want her to have to go against Beyoncé (whose Lemonade earned nine nominations, including one in each of those categories).

But slamming Beyoncé was not Rihanna's intention, she made clear in the comment section. "I never actually read your caption, thought the pic was funny and moved right along! Til I seen it pop up over and over!" she wrote. "I'm petty af, yes. But this is just unnecessary! I wish y'all would drop this topic and see things from the bigger picture! We don't need to be putting black women against each other! We deserve to be celebrated, and the Grammy Academy agrees!"
