Rather than taking her project to higher-profile cities like LA or New York, twigs decided to hold it in Baltimore because it had "so much soul and so much amazing energy" despite the city's unrest over loss and trauma making national headlines. "I just wanted to see what the truth was, and the truth was very different from what the media had made it out to be," said the artist in a statement.

An estimated 400 people turned up to the workshop. The result of that one afternoon is the stunning Baltimore Dance Project documentary, which you can watch here. twigs and collaborators Ramon Baynes, Kash Powell, and Dominic Lawrence worked with the attendees for more than five hours. Directed by Nick Walker, the short film showcases Baltimore dancers' extraordinary talent, joy, and community.
