Charlie Hunnam, an actor who normally looks like this:

And this:

Cheek, Hairstyle, Skin, Chin, Shoulder, Chest, Eyebrow, Elbow, Joint, Barechested, pinterest

But has also looked like this:

Charlie?

And this:

Clothing, Dress shirt, Collar, Coat, Sleeve, Shirt, Textile, Outerwear, Formal wear, Pocket, pinterest

And whose name we're never really sure how to pronounce, is starring alongside Robert Pattinson in the upcoming film The Lost City of Z (in which RPattz has a rather gnarly beard).

But in a recent interview, Hunnam revealed that the five-month-long shoot in Colombia wasn't all fun and games and Twilight trivia nights. Because communicating with people in the States was difficult, the actor promised his girlfriend of 11 years, Morgana McNelis, that he'd write her a letter a day. But, it turned out, that plan didn't work out so well either:

"We went to Colombia, and the mail system doesn't really work very well," Hunnam told Entertainment Weekly. "It's completely unreliable. I received a letter from her, and I realized that from the tone of it and things she was saying that she hadn't received the two letters that I sent before."

So instead of doing, well, anything, the actor decided to do, well, nothing. He stopped writing all together and went "method." "Which obviously makes me sound like a total bastard, appropriately so," Hunnam said in the interview. "But I was very apologetic."

How apologetic is enough apologetic to make going "method"-MIA on a significant other for five months okay, you might ask (for a friend, obviously)?

There is no answer.

Meanwhile, we're assuming RPattz did that whole shimmer-appearing thing to check in with FKA twigs during filming, because, you know, he seems considerate like that.
