While the opportunity to have sex with Ryan Gosling, Jamie Dornan or Idris Elba might have us handing in our resignation, jumping on the next flight to Los Angeles and stripping down to our undies in a flash, we're sad to reveal that raunchy days filming in the nude with the stars doesn't sound like they're all they're cracked up to be, if we're to believe the experts.

From wearing nude-coloured socks over their nether regions and getting so drunk they can barely stand on set, we've rounded up the most embarrassing moments from celebrities in the buff:

Sienna Miller and Ben Affleck

In an interview with E! News, actress Sienna Miller revealed she experienced one of the most awkward sex scenes while filming with Ben Affleck for the pair's upcoming film Live by Night, which involved a lot of 'rumpy pumpy'.

Based on Dennis Lehane's popular crime novel, the film involved the celebrities having to film sex scenes for nine hours straight, which resulted in bouts of hysteria, crying and shaking from Miller at the thought of having to pretend to have sex with her co-star.

Miller admitted: 'There was a montage in the script saying we did it everywhere: in the car, in the bar…I was like, 'That's an entire day of just love scenes! OK. How do we do this?' Obviously, by the time nine hours of it has gone past, I was shaking with tears running down my face.'

Lena Dunham and Adam Driver

Having filmed numerous sex scenes for her show Girls, Dunham admitted she didn't care if anyone saw her vagina in the end.

'I stopped wearing the nude patch after the first season of Girls. There's not one guy who works on that show who hasn't seen the inside of my vagina. You glue it over your vagina. It gets sweaty and always falls off. My male co-stars, at the end of the day, don't care,' she told ELLE.

Emilia Clarke and Jason Momoa

While the sex scenes in Game of Thrones might look sexy, the filming is often quite the opposite.

During her appearance on The Graham Norton Show, Emilia Clarke admitted the pink modesty covering that Momoa wore in one sex scene was actually fluffy pink and it brought on a fit of laughter during filming.

'It [was] huge and pink, and I don't know what to do,' she said. Poor Jason!

Lizzie Caplan

For her first sex scene in True Blood, the Mean Girls actress revealed to Chelsea Handler on Chelsea Lately that she got blind drunk beforehand. 'It was like 7 am in the morning and I was chugging vodka completely naked while a make-up artist I had just met was on her knees in front of me sponging my ass,' she said.

But, things got worse for Caplan.

'I was so drunk, that after I shot the scene I was going up to the crew members. I had just met all these people the day before and I was going up to them like, 'You got a boner! You do! You've got one!' she admitted.

Allison Williams

Ahead of a sex scene in Girls – which Williams describes as 'ass motorboating' – the actress admitted to Vulture she was so nervous for the filming process that she had to create a pad to go around her nether regions to alleviate some of the embarrassment for her and her co-star.

'Because of my wiring, I read it in the script and I went into total action mode. I got everyone together and I was like, 'All right, Grace [in wardrobe], you and me — we're going to come up with something so ingenious that he is going to feel comfortable.

'I mean, think about where he is… I grabbed the makeup girl and said, 'I want to smell like a cake,' so we put vanilla cream everywhere so everything smells good. And then I'm like, 'Grace, we're going to rig something invisible from the side but that feels like a pillow when he puts his face into it'.'

Awkward much?

Ryan Reynolds And Olivia Wilde

While filming The Change-Up with co-star Wilde, Reynolds told Jay Leno on The Tonight Show he couldn't remember his lines when he realised Wilde had drawn smiley faces on her nipple pasties.

'In the scene, she's sitting there and I take her top off and the bra off, and she has those pasties on, but she's drawn these adorable little smiley faces on them. And I forget every line in the scene - not just from this movie but from every other movie I've done.'

Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt

For their sex scene in Passengers, there was only one way Lawrence was going to get intimate with her co-star Chris Pratt and that was to be absolutely wasted.

'Because you forget, like when you're shooting, I was like 'oh I'm gonna get hammered for the sex scene, 'cause it's stressful and scary',' she revealed on Late Night with Seth Meyers.

'And then you forget like, you know, you're at work and so you're gonna be here for eight hours. I was incredibly hungover by the time they got to me,' she added.

Ashton Kutcher and Natalie Portman

Imagine someone telling you you're taking too long to get the job done.

Well, that's what Kutcher was told during filming for No Strings Attached with Natalie Portman, when director Ivan Reitman pulled him aside to tell him he was taking 'too long' to, you know, to finish.

'Ivan comes back in and is like, 'I think you need to orgasm sooner',' Kutcher told ComingSoon.net.

'Your male machismo is like, no, no, it would take me much longer than this!' he said. We're not surprised.

Kristen Wiig and John Hamm

Remember that awkward sex scene at the beginning of Bridesmaids when Hamm's character is riding Wigg like a showpony?

Well, multiply that awkward moment by a dozen for the actor who said he was constantly worried he would crush his co-star.

'I am not a small human being. I weigh at least 200 pounds and I'm six-foot-two. And Wiig is a twig; she's a skinny little thing. I told her, 'Just punch me in the side if I'm hurting you',' the actor revealed to US Magazine.

Henry Cavill

Things got a bit too hot under the collar – and boxers – for Superman star Henry Cavill when he was filming a sex scene for The Tudors.

'A girl had to be on top of me, she had spectacular breasts, and I hadn't rearranged my - stuff into a harmless position. She's basically rubbing herself all over me and, um, it got a bit hard,' he told Men's Health.

'I had to apologize profusely afterward. It's not great when you're in a professional acting environment and somebody gets a boner, is it? No, not acceptable,' he added.

No, Henry it's not.

Robert Pattinson and Julianne Moore

Sweating in the bedroom isn't that uncommon. Sweating in the bedroom on set with your colleague is entirely another story.

While filming with Moore for their film Map to the Stars, Pattinson said he couldn't stop sweating during their sex scene, much to his embarrassment.

'It was so hot in Toronto [where they were filming], and she's one of these people... she doesn't sweat at all,' he told Heat magazine.

'But I sweat like a f*cking crazy person. And I was trying to literally catch drops of sweat to stop them hitting her back! Afterwards she was like 'Are you having a panic attack?' It was so embarrassing.'

Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson

Those sex scenes in Fifty Shades of Grey might look adventurous and, for Dakota, it ended up with her injuring her neck.

In an interview with The Mirror, Johnson revealed she was so embarrassed because she gave herself whiplash during a scene.

'I got whiplash once from him throwing me on the bed; so f*cking painful.'

Anne Hathaway and Jake Gyllenhaal

Not realising she was preparing for a rehearsal and not filming the real scene, Anne Hathaway told Hollywood Life she accidentally got naked in front of the whole cast and crew.

'I [had] to remove my trench coat and be nude underneath. And I thought we were filming, but it turned out we were just rehearsing and I got unnecessarily naked in front of a lot of people!,' she said.

On second thoughts, maybe we'd prefer to just watch the sex scenes in films.
