Earlier this month, social media star and makeup artist Manny Gutierrez became the first-ever male ambassador for Maybelline. He retweeted plenty of positive responses celebrating his new gig as good news, but one from writer Matt Walsh, whose bio reads "Christian columnist and political incendiary," does not fall into that category:

Eyelash, Iris, Colorfulness, Fur, Eye liner, Eye shadow, Street fashion, Flash photography, Fur clothing, Nail, pinterest

This is how Manny responded:

Then, he shared a screenshot of a letter addressed to Walsh from his father. "I've always been there for my son and will ALWAYS be there for him," the note read, "Not only am I proud of what he has accomplished but I'm more proud of the person he has become."

"I know the words you speak are from lack of knowing anybody from the LGBT community," he continued, "If you did, you would soon realize they are some of the most real and kind hearted individuals that walk this planet of ours."

"Being a man isn't about how 'tough' or 'masculine' you are," Manny also tweeted, "It's about taking care of the ones you love."
