Joe and Jill Biden, our valentines now and forevermore, announced the launch of the Biden Foundation this morning.

The former vice president's new organization is meant to further the couple's "commitment to protecting and advancing rights and opportunities of all people," which is a good aim to have at the moment since it seems like pretty much every person we know is in the process of having his or her rights and opportunities systematically stripped away.

Biden tapped his closest supporters to establish the foundation, which, according to a statement released earlier today, will be "dedicated to exploring the ways that everyone—no matter their income level, race, gender, age, or sexuality—can expected to be treated with dignity and to receive a air shot at achieving the American Dream."

If that sounds like a subtle jab at the current administration, hell bent as it seems to be on sowing discord, discrimination, and fear well...

The foundation will promote Biden's Cancer Initiative, which he launched during the Obama administration, his work to ensure that the Violence Against Women Act is "fully realized," his support for U.S. service members and their families, and Dr. Biden's work to "increase access to high quality affordable education in the United States, especially through community college, and around the world."

Joe Biden—sees the world is on fire, grabs a hose.
