Michelle Obama may be out of the White House, but luckily she won't be out of our lives forever.

The former First Lady will feature as a guest judge on Fox's fifth series of Masterchef Junior, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Regular judge Graham Elliot will not be appearing in the new series which began last night in the US, and instead special guests such as Michelle and Martha Stewart will star in his absence. Other well-known judges are yet to be announced.

Gordon Ramsay presents and stars as a judge in the popular young person's cooking competition, along with celebrated pastry chef Christina Tosi.

Speaking about the young hopefuls, Ramsay told the LA Times: 'Listen, they're bloody good. Their grandparents are buying cooking lessons for them, they're buying cooking utensils, sous-vide machines, smokers, torches – the tuition [teaching] that goes into it, incredible.'

Michelle previously appeared in Food Network Special Barefoot in Washington with US author and presenter Ina Garten, but this is the first time she will be judging food.

Meanwhile, the Chicago Tribune have also excitedly reported that five of the young contestants from this season are from Chicago, where Michelle grew up.

Michelle and former US President Barack Obama have recently been enjoying a well-deserved family holiday in Palm Springs, after Obama served eight years in Office.
