Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx was allegedly racially abused in a restaurant in Dubrovnik, Croatia.

Police have filed disorderly conduct charges against two people after receiving reports of "particularly arrogant and rude" remarks towards restaurant guests on Sunday, including "one of the guests on racial grounds" (via Billboard).

The police statement does not name Foxx as the victim of the abuse, but the Django Unchained star reportedly posted comments on his Instagram page about the incident, before swiftly deleting them.

He's since shared a video of himself on a balcony of his "castle" hotel in Dubrovnik, commenting on the breathtaking view and beauty of the Croatian city.

"This is blowing my mind, I've seen a lot of crazy s**t but don't tell me your dreams can't come true... And they put some champagne down here too!" he said in the Instagram video.

Foxx is in the country filming Robin Hood: Origins in which he plays Little John alongside Jamie Dornan as Will Scarlet, Taron Egerton as the titular well-meaning thief, and Ben Mendelsohn as the Sheriff of Nottingham.

The movie adapted from the screenplay by Joby Harold is a gritty imagining of the classic English folklore.

Foxx returned to shooting scenes after the incident, and police have since said they will investigate whether or not to pursue other charges against the men.

Esquire has reached out for comment from Foxx's publicist.

Meanwhile, Croatia has seen a rise in far-right attitudes, xenophobia and regional tensions with the country's new government.
