The Duchess of Cambridge joined the Duke of Cambridge at a reception to mark the launch of the UK-India Year of Culture 2017 at Buckingham Palace on Monday, and her evening style was as elegant as ever.

As usual, the duchess's outfit had been well thought through. She chose the silver 'Rhonda' dress by London-based designer Erdem, which is no longer available to buy, paired with equally sparkly stilettos. To pay tribute to India, Kate completed her look with pearl earrings from Indian fashion designer Anita Dongre, who was one of the guests at the party, reports The Telegraph.

The Duke and Duchess joined other royals, including the Queen, at the event, which celebrated the close relationship between the two nations. To welcome guests, the national bird of India was projected onto the facade of the Palace and Anglo-Indian canapes, created by Uday Salunkhe, executive chef at Veeraswamy, and Mark Flanagan, head chef at Buckingham Palace's kitchens, were on offer.

It's not the only time we'll see Kate out and about in public this week. She visited Ronald McDonald House, a charity which provides free accommodation to families while their child is in hospital, in London this morning.
