It seems new gaggles of girl squads crop up in Hollywood almost daily, but Brie Larson and Emma Stone's friendship takes the cake. After being seen sobbing in each other's arms backstage at the Oscars in celebration of Stone's Best Actress win, the dynamic duo has been commended for their 24-carat friendship, inspiring women to applaud one another.
Larson, who claimed the Best Actress nod in 2016, explained to Entertainment Tonight that Stone's win was a "surreal" moment, and called her fellow actress "my friend that I love so much."
"I'm so proud of her," she added.
Versions of Larson's Instagram exploded on the Internet the morning after the Oscars, and while the pair didn't realize they were being photographed at the time, Larson is delighted to have a tactile reminder of the extraordinary moment.
"I'm grateful that there's a photo to prove that," she told ET, "Because what better than a day like International Women's Day to say women love each other. We support each other through everything."
