We've all been very good this year. How do I know that? Because we're getting the best Christmas gift ever. Mariah Carey just announced that her song "All I Want for Christmas Is You" is being turned into a movie, coming this holiday season.
Her announcement about the forthcoming animated film is a glass and a half of pure Mariah. The Elusive Chanteuse shared the news in a short video on Twitter, reclining casually on a couch with her beloved Jack Russell Terrier and a copy of her children's book, All I Want for Christmas Is You. ("Oh! How did that get there?") She's wearing a red-and-black check onesie that I now covet and regret not having psychically known that I would need right this moment. And, in the background, there's a crackling fire and a Christmas tree. Perfection.
"Every holiday season, there are traditions we can't live without," reads the video announcement. "The tree...the stockings...the presents...and Mariah Carey." Where is the lie?
We have so many questions. Why is she announcing it in March? (Don't care, wish I had known about this when I was born.) How do you turn a song into a movie? (Don't ask me, ask Meryl.) Why is Mariah asking us to follow a Twitter account that, as of her announcement, literally had not tweeted yet? (Still followed it, duh.) Did someone have to set a Christmas tree up in Mariah's house and then immediately take it down? (OMG.) Or does Mariah Carey have a secret Christmas room that nobody knows about where it's always Christmas?
