The new teaser trailer for Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, the sci-fi action film starring Cara Delevingne, Dane DeHaan, and Clive Owen, is out. Watch it below:
Based on the comic book series Valerian and Laureline, the film follows the exploits of two special operatives, played by DeHaan (Valerian) and Delevingne (Laureline), as they investigate a dark force that threatens Alpha, a sparkling city where species from all over the universe exchange intelligence. The film is directed by Luc Besson of The Fifth Element fame and it looks to be an epic adventure in the vein of Avatar. There are plenty of CGI critters to goggle at, and one satisfying shot shows Delevingne kicking absolute butt.
But honestly, the best thing about the trailer comes a little later—Rihanna shows up right at the very end, with a iconic wardrobe moment that is alone worth the price of admission. The singer plays Bubble, who is apparently the Sally Bowles of the intergalactic entertainment industry. More, please!
