While it broke our hearts to see Drake depart from longtime Canadian drama Degrassi: The Next Generation, it's finally time for him to return to the screen. The rapper is set to star in the third season of British Channel 4 crime drama Top Boy, according to The Daily Mirror. He reportedly bought the rights to the series last fall.

Top Boy star Ashley Walters, who plays Dushane, spilled to The Daily Mirror that producers are reportedly writing in a major role for Drake. While the rapper is currently busy touring and promoting his new album, More Life,"he loves acting and he's going to be really hands on and is getting stuck into it," says Walters.

Despite all of his recent professional and personal attention, Walters notes that Drake "is such a down to earth, nice guy. He's so famous you would expect him to be this crazy character but he's actually quite boring, in a good way."

Drake isn't the only hip hop star making a cameo in Top Boy next season. British rapper and grime star Skepta will also reportedly make an appearance.

No official release date has been announced, but the third season is set to hit Netflix in 2018. You can catch up the first two seasons here.
