It's hard being a celebrity. Even other celebrities don't have your back. Just take poor old Ryan Phillippe. On Monday, he tried to put a stop to rumors that he was dating Katy Perry. How could he be dating Perry, he tweeted, if he doesn't even know her?
YEAH RIGHT RYAN.
The Internet was skeptical. Tweeting a denial in all-caps is just the kind of thing someone who's dating Katy Perry would do.
All fun and games, though...until the "Chained to the Rhythm" singer herself posted something that got us thinking.
OMG. KATY ARE YOU OKAY.
We really were worried for a minute, because Phillippe responded:
But then Perry posted that she was JK and introduced herself politely to Phillippe, whom, it seems, she's never met—or dated.
(Or have they?)
Anyway, pretty good way to deal with romance rumors. Well played, Katy.
