In an interview with BuzzFeed, John Legend answered reader questions about love, relationships, and—what else?—his awesome wife, Chrissy Teigen. And, surprise, he thinks she's the best thing in the world. Related: The rest of our relationships can't compare. GET YOU A MAN.

He kicked off the interview by giving good relationship advice. When asked about how they balance professional ambition and their relationship, Legend said he's never happier than when Teigen is successful. He said women shouldn't be afraid of making the first move because "gender roles are changing and evolving and I don't think we need to be bound by old-school chivalry."

He also spoke of the importance of spending time on your partner, so neither of you get complacent. "You need to go on dates, you need to do things that make you remember why you fell in love with each other in the first place." Easy! Just be two impossibly beautiful, successful people who love dating each other...but also sage advice for the rest of us mere mortals.

He waded into some more emotional territory, speaking about how he helped Teigen through postpartum depression (something both of them have spoken about before). "It's tough. You see someone's mood decline and then stay in a darker place for a while and it's a challenge for you," he said. "You don't know if it's you, if it's something you did wrong, or what you can do to help." But by seeing professionals and learning how depression works, he said, you can better provide support.

Stop being great for one second, please.

But the clincher? When one fan asked what advice Legend had for someone who's about to move in with his girlfriend, the singer revealed he knows how to compromise. Like, even on couches and stuff: "But you have to understand that there's some compromises you're going to have to make. Even if it's just picking out a couch, or a duvet cover, or some pillows, every little thing is going to be a conversation.... As with anything, you have to respect each other, have to communicate, and you have to be willing to not get everything you want all the time."

So yeah, giving up now, because there's no way we're meeting halfway on that leather La-Z-Boy.
