Sometimes there are moments when we see Sarah Jessica Parker on a red carpet where we think, 'damn, that's a Carrie look'.

The 52-year-old actress and fashion icon often looks like her most famous role as New York City writer, Carrie Bradshaw, and love her for it.

In fact, we even made an entire slideshow of all the times SJP looks like her Sex and The City character.

Having said this, Parker has openly explained that, to be honest, she doesn't totally dig Carrie's antics. She told the Wall Street Journal last year:

People probably don't realize that Carrie Bradshaw was radically different from who I was, who I continue to be. I think that sometimes because we look alike and live in the same city and haunt the same neighborhoods, that it was sort of like I was playing in the sandbox, when in truth it took real work every day to be her, to understand her, to not judge her.

SJP even tried to quit the hit show after it got picked up from the pilot episode.

Their love lives are somewhat dissimilar. Carrie decided not to have kids and married her on-and-off-again beau of ten years, whereas Sarah Jessica Parker married Matthew Broderick after five and they have three children together.

That being said, their dress sense is still super similar, and that isn't where the similarity between SJP and Carrie ends.

SJP actually learned the hard way that life does often imitate art.

Remember when Carrie thinks she looses her Carrie necklace in Dior in Paris?

The protagonist of the HBO hit decides to move to Paris with her artist lover Alexander Petrovsky (played by the ballet dancer Mikhail Baryshnikov), but tragically looses her necklace (a metaphor for her sense of self perhaps?), only for Petrovsky to replace it with a cold, hard diamond necklace.

Thankfully, SPOILER ALERT, she finds the necklace in the lining of a vintage bag, as well as herself, since Big travels across an ocean to tell her she's the one.

Parker told New York magazine editor-in-chief Adam Moss at Vulture festival that 'I have the Carrie necklace still,' according to the Cut,'I love it and it's tucked away somewhere safe.'

She told Moss that one her favourite scenes is when Carrie thinks she loses the necklace because in real life, Parker thought she had lost it and totally lost her rag,

'I wish I could play that scene again, because now that I've lived through it, I'd do a much better job.'

We get why SJP thought it was such a big deal losing the necklace, she actually has kept most of her clothing from the show' We have probably 95 percent of the clothing archived. I have it all,' she said. 'I don't touch it or wear it but all of that is really meaningful.'

Ummm, we don't mind taking some of those clothes for a spin SJP...we'll be careful, we promise.
