Katy Perry's carpool karaoke ride with James Corden aired last night during Corden's primetime special and in addition to singing Perry's hits—"Firework," "Dark Horse," "Bon Appetit," "Swish Swish," and "Roar"—the two had a quality talk about that infamous Taylor Swift feud.

"Well, there's a situation," Perry said when asked about whether there was something really going on. "For sure, that's true. There's a situation. Honestly, it's really like she started it, and it's time for her to finish it."

Perry and Swift's public feud started in 2014. Swift then told Rolling Stone about a frenemy widely speculated to be Perry who inspired her song "Bad Blood".

For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not," Swift said. "She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, 'Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?' [Then] she did something so horrible. I was like, 'Oh, we're just straight-up enemies.' And it wasn't even about a guy! It had to do with business...She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me. And I'm surprisingly nonconfrontational—you would not believe how much I hate conflict. So now I have to avoid her. It's awkward, and I don't like it.

Perry told Corden that she reached out to Swift after in an attempt to make things right. "I tried to talk to her about it and she wouldn't speak to me... I do the right thing any time that it feels like a fumble. It was a full shutdown and then she writes a song about me, and I'm like, 'Okay, cool, cool, cool, that's how you want to deal with it? Karma!'"

Which, in this case, Perry implied, was her diss track "Swish Swish" that she and Corden had just sung. "But what I want to say is that like, I'm ready for that BS to be done," Perry added. "Now, there is the law of cause and effect. You do something, there's going to be a reaction, and trust me daddy, there's going to be a reaction. No, I mean, It's all about karma, right? I think personally that women together, not divided, and like, none of this petty bullshit, women together will heal the world."

And apparently the entire thing can be easily resolved. Corden asked Perry half-jokingly if it would be enough to receive a text from Swift that said "the beef is off the grill." Perry agreed, "100 percent" it'd be enough to end it.
