Of all the things I'll miss most about Pretty Little Liars — Caleb, Mona, Hanna's mom, Aria's outfits — there's nothing I'll mourn as much as the fan theories. At least half the fun of watching this show is trying to figure out what the hell is going on, and no one does that better than the internet.

Earlier this month, PLL sleuths correctly predicted that Ali's baby is actually Emily's baby too, and now it looks like another crew of tinfoil-hat types may end up vindicated. Tuesday's episode, In the Eye Abides the Heart, included a very suspicious scene that — spoiler alert — possibly confirms the popular theory that Spencer has a twin.

To back up for a second... since little is known about Spencer's new origin story as the daughter of Mary Drake, some viewers believe this means that there's another Drake offspring out there, who did not have the luxury of getting adopted by Veronica. This person, having been kept out of the cushy Hastings household for his or her entire life, would have plenty of motivation for becoming Uber A. Some think that Bethany Young, whose adult face we've never seen, is the twin, while others believe it's Wren. But who says the twin is fraternal? What if the twins were identical, and Twincer looks just like Spencer?

Now back to Tuesday's episode. Near the end of show, there was a weird scene where Ezra, on his way to visit Nicole, bumped into Spencer at the airport, where she was having a conversation with Wren. There's no way to know how much time passed between this scene and Spencer's previous one, where she was sitting in the dark at the Lost Woods fighting with Detective Furey, but it sure didn't seem like enough for her to get to the Philadelphia airport. It also seemed like this scene took place past the security checkpoint, because you can clearly see a gate number on the left side of the screen when Ezra spots her (in the photo below). This means Spencer not only would have had to get to the airport, but that she would have had to buy a ticket just to get through TSA, then wait in the security line. Would she really do this just to have a chat with Wren? Maybe not, but if this is Twincer, then perhaps she was already there.

Then there's the question of her outfit. In Spencer's scene with Detective Furey, she's wearing a white trench coat over a black shirt. Airport Spencer is also wearing a black shirt, but the trench coat is nowhere in sight. Maybe she left it in her car, but if it was cold enough to be wearing it indoors at the Lost Woods, why wouldn't she just wear it into the airport and drape it over the back of her chair? Because this is Twincer, and she doesn't have a fabulous white trench coat!

To take this scenario even further, one Redditor (via Refinery29) points out that there was a major difference between Spencer's real bedroom and her dollhouse room, which was ostensibly an exact replica of the real one. Her real one included a decorative letter "S" for Spencer, but the dollhouse one swapped out the "S" for an "A." Coincidence? No way.

And finally, it's worth noting that this episode marked Troian Bellisario's directing debut on the show. Maybe Troian had no preference about which episode she directed; maybe the rest of the crew chose it for her at random. But if they didn't, it makes sense that they'd assign her one with major Spencer drama. So is Twincer real? Unclear, but this episode certainly added a ton of fuel to the multiple birth fire.
