It wasn't too long ago that first lady Melania Trump vowed to use the power of her office to push for anti-cyberbullying policies and a kinder online environment! Lo! How the times have forever changed us all.

This morning, through her spokesperson, Trump defended her husband's latest Twitter rant; the leader of the free world personally attacked MSNBC hosts Joe Scarborough and Mike Brzezinski, claiming that Brzezinski was "bleeding from a face-lift" when she visited Mar-a-Lago on New Year's Eve. (Better out of her face than out of her "wherever," I think!)

In a statement released by Trump's director of communications, Trump attempted no explanation for her husband's bizarre and offensive behavior: "As the First Lady has stated publicly in the past, when her husband gets attacked, he will punch back 10 times harder."

Meanwhile, MSNBC quickly released its own statement, writing: "It's a sad day for America when the president spends his time bullying, lying, and spewing petty personal attacks instead of doing his job." And on Twitter, its head of PR wrote that he "[n]ever imagined a day when I would think to myself, 'it is beneath my dignity to respond to the President of the United States.'"

Anyway! We've reached out to Melania Trump's spokesperson to confirm that this is really the message the first lady would like to send to people all over the world. She has yet to respond. In the meantime, at least we'll always have these sweet memories:
