The Disney remakes are coming thick and fast—this time, they're not taking on one of their own greatest hits, but rather a tale immortalized in the ballet world. The Nutcracker and the Four Realms will star Keira Knightley as the Sugar Plum Fairy; Mackenzie Foy (who played Renesmee Cullen in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn) as Clara, the little girl whose nutcracker toy comes alive; Helen Mirren as the villainous Mother Ginger; Morgan Freeman as Clara's godfather Drosselmeyer; and Misty Copeland, in a special performance. Disney previewed the film at its D23 Expo.

In case you're wondering what the four realms are, they're lands in a parallel world—the Land of Snowflakes, the Land of Flowers, the Land of Sweets, and the Fourth Realm—where the magical story will take place. The Fourth Realm will be the setting for Clara's battles with Mother Ginger and a crafty gang of mice led by the Mouse King (portrayed by dancer Lil Buck, with the help of CGI).

The Nutcracker will open on November 2, 2018; the Hollywood Reporter reports that this was previously slated as the release date for Disney's live-action Mulan, which means that the release of Mulan has probably been pushed back.
