Focusing both on the male creator of Diana Prince and the two women who inspired her creation, Professor Marston and the Wonder Women was teased before screenings of the DC blockbuster in some cities earlier this summer. Now, it has a full trailer. Written and directed by Angela Robinson, the 1940s-set drama follows Professor William Marston (Luke Evans), the creator of Wonder Woman, and his relationship with the two women who inspired her.

Here's where things get interesting: Marston's two muses are his wife Elizabeth (Rebecca Hall), and the couple's shared lover Olive Byrne (Bella Heathcote). The trio's "unconventional" life together, and their mutual interest in feminism, bondage, and pacifism, all play into Marston's creation of Wonder Woman, who's depicted as an amalgamation of Elizabeth and Olive.

The film comes from Annapurna Pictures, whose awards season track record is pretty strong—their previous slate includes Zero Dark Thirty, Her, and 20th Century Women—so you may want to factor this into your Oscar predictions as a dark horse.

Professor Marston and the Wonder Women hits theaters October 27, 2017.
