Last week, Twitter user @CCFan007 shared an image of Beyoncé's wax figure at the NYC location of wax emporium Madame Tussaud's:

The museum's rendition of Queen Bey wasn't just the usual wax statue weirdness, as fans quickly latched onto the pop star's ambiguous facial characteristics and skin tone:

<p>At the time, Madame Tussaud's released the statement:</p> <blockquote class=" body-blockquote"=""><p>"At Madame Tussauds, our talented team of sculptors take every effort to ensure we accurately colour match all of our wax figures to the celebrity being depicted. Lighting within the attraction combined with flash photography may distort and misrepresent the colour of our wax figures which is something our sculptors are unable to account for at the production stage."

And according to the New York Times, the museum took the criticism seriously enough to actually remove Beyoncé's statue from the floor. On Friday, it released the statement:

"We love, respect and enjoy a working relationship with Beyoncé. We have adjusted the styling and lighting of her figure and she is on display."

But a recent image of the statue, captured by the Times, doesn't show that big of a difference after its reinstatement. And if you look through recent Instagram posts of Bey's statue at Madame Tussaud's NYC, you'll notice that she pretty much... looks the same:

<p>Two steps backward, one step forward? Bey is far from the only figure whose wax immortalization isn't super spot-on, but there are clearly better and worse renditions of the star out there:</p> <p>
