And you thought Big Little Lies was star-studded

Jennifer Aniston making her TV comeback 13 years after Friends ended is massive news on its own.

But Aniston returning to TV for a new comedy pairing her with Primetime Emmy Award-nominated Big Little Lies star Reese Witherspoon might just be the biggest TV news of the summer.

The two A-List Hollywood stars really are working together on a currently-untitled comedy series based within the cut-throat world of the New York media — morning TV, to be exact.

The Hollywood Reporter notes that no TV or streaming service is attached just yet, but HBO and Netflix are expected to make bids on the project very soon.

House of Cards writer and real-life American political strategist Jay Carson is attached to write the script, with former HBO drama head Michael Ellenberg executive producing.

This project will be Aniston's first recurring TV role since she wrapped her Emmy-winning portrayal of Rachel Green in Friends back in 2004. Since that time, she's memorably guest starred in 30 Rock and Cougar Town.

Witherspoon – aka Rachel's younger sister Jill in Friends – is still riding the wave of critical acclaim for Big Little Lies, the HBO limited series that cast her opposite fellow Hollywood greats Laura Dern and Nicole Kidman.

HBO is currently working with Big Little Lies author Liane Moriarty on a potential second season, which Witherspoon would obviously have to balance with her latest TV role.

Big Little Lies will be vying for an impressive 18 Primetime Emmy Awards at the September ceremony.
