Beyoncé's empire extends beyond music, but it's possible it could soon encompass sports too. Queen Bey is reportedly considering buying a share in the Houston Rockets, the official basketball team of her hometown, Bloomberg reported yesterday.

The Rockets' current owner, Les Alexander, announced he's selling the team last month. There's no set price tag yet, but estimates suggest the team could likely sell for over $2 billion, according to Forbes'estimates.

The Rockets' spokesperson, Beyoncé's reps, and JAY-Z's reps have yet to comment on the news.

Being an NBA owner is nothing new to the Carter family. Bey's husband JAY-Z used to be a part-owner of the Brooklyn Nets, but he gave up his share in 2013. Currently, the pair is the highest-paid celebrity couple in the world, after earning a combined $147 million in the past year.

If Queen Bey goes through with the sale, we could expect more stylish courtside appearances from the superstar (possibly with Blue Ivy and the twins) in Houston's upcoming games.
