Happy Birthday Barack Obama!

Today, the former president turns 56-years-old, despite looking like he's at least 15 years younger.

It's now been around eight months since the 44th president left the Oval office and Donald Trump was sworn in, bringing with him executive orders attempting to ban Muslims from entering the country, a government - who aside from being hired and fired like its going out of fashion - are hell-bent on limiting women's reproductive rights, increasingly erratic tweets and a pledge to ban transgender people from serving in the military.

For those who miss Obama being the serving president, both at home and abroad, it also comes with the bittersweet knowledge that in 2017, no matter how much we miss him, he is fully living his best life.

Here's to you B.O., with a run down of everything you've been doing since that inauguration.

When he fled Washington for Palm Springs

Almost immediately after leaving Washington DC via helicopter, the Obamas made their way to Palm Springs, California to chill in the pad of dreams.

According to People, the 11 square foot property has panoramic views of Palm Springs valley, a beautiful pool and is near golf courses.

When he kite surfed with Richard Branson

Just one month later, he was off again, this time to Necker Island – the tropical haven in the British Virgin Islands owned by billionaire businessman Sir Richard Branson.

Writing on his blog, Branson said how after inviting Barack and Michelle to Necker, the former President learned to kite surf. Serial adventurer Branson then challenged Obama to see who could stay up the longest. Obama could, classic.

When he stayed on Marlin Brando's private tropical island

Another month, another holiday. Palm Springs, Necker Island and even a reported stop in his native Hawaii, the next stop for Barack was the tropical islands in French Polynesia. Obama settled for the private island of Tetiaroa, once owned by legendary film director Marlon Brando. Fancy.

When he went white water rafting

After whetting his appetite for water sports, Barack, Michelle, Malia and Sasha headed to Indonesia for another trip in June where they went white water rafting. We can't quite tell from the pictures how much Barack enjoyed this, but Sasha definitely did. For a more chilled part of the holiday, the family paid a visit to the beautiful rice fields of Bali.

When he stopped and Starbucks and was mobbed

Getting political for a second, it's worth noting that is highly unlikely for an outgoing president to still be considered popular. Let alone so popular that he literally cannot even stop for coffee. When Obama – and a heavy security detail – stopped for a Starbucks in February (we're thinking he ordered a caramel latte) there was a screaming crowd loud enough to rival a Justin Bieber concert. The former president did the classic playing-it-cool wave, while we like to think deep down he was smug that those just a little bit further down Fifth Avenue at Trump Tower were very aware of the commotion.

When he stopped to catch a show on Broadway

What to do when you have a free evening in New York City and you're no longer running a country? Head to a Broadway show of course! In February, Barack and Malia visited a star-studded production of Arthur Miller's 'The Price'. The father and daughter were then spotted cracking up with laughter while they mingled with the cast of the show including Danny DeVito, Mark Ruffalo and Jessica Hecht (Susan from Friends!!!)

When he photographed his wife on a super yacht

In April, the former President and First Lady were pictured on a super yacht, reportedly with the backdrop of the French Polynesian island of Moorea.

We like to think Barack was telling Michelle to 'work it', 'smize' and 'look candid' while she graced the camera with her natural hair (yasss).

One more thing: It looks highly likely that Barack took these photos with an iPad. Baller.

When he reunited with Prince Harry

After teaming up with Prince Harry last year to make a couple of brilliant videos to promote the Invictus games, Barack decided to pop by Kensington Palace. As you do.

The palace's social media accounts said the pair discussed support for veterans, mental health, conservation, empowering young people and their charities. Obama said he offered his condolences to the victims of the recent Manchester terror attack also adding it was 'good to see my friend Prince Harry'. Naww.
