Rumors about the upcoming iPhone 8 design have been swirling around in the ether pretty much since the iPhone 7 dropped, but YouTuber Danny Winget claims to have gotten his hands on the final prototype dummies for the much-anticipated release. Naturally, he showed off the dummies in sparkling high-def video on his channel:

And if you're reading that video title right, yes, that's a copper gold or bronze iPhone. Which is a great addition to the iPhone color family, except! If you look at the full color spectrum in Winget's video, you'll realize that there's no rose gold color anymore. Instead, there are only the three of black, silver/white, and then bronze/white.

Winget perhaps puts it best: "The shade is much darker. It's hard to even describe this color. I think it's pretty ugly. This is a drastic change from the rose gold color."

Considering how the cultural rosΓ© moment is still churning on, it seems weird for Apple to suddenly pivot into this new shade. And certainly, it remains to be seen what the actual products look like. But unfortunately, it doesn't look like when it comes time to unveil the final iPhone 8s to the public, rose gold will be in the running.
