Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield, golden couple of yesteryear, were amicable (and at some points, at least for Garfield, somewhat wishful) exes during this year's award season. A reconciliation didn't ultimately happen, but one may be on the horizon now. If, that is, this wonderful rumor about the two of them is true.

According to The Sun, Stone has been making multiple trips to London to see Garfield perform in his play Angels in America. She's watched the show several times (dedication!) and allegedly "always" goes for a backstage visit. "They have even been sneaking out of the back door holding hands," a source close to Garfield told The Sun. "Andrew's feelings for Emma never softened and now they are growing close once again."

Stone is currently in New York City filming her Netflix show Maniac. "Emma spent some time in the UK earlier in the year shooting her new film The Favourite, but made a further trip to London when they have reconnected," the source explained. "There is a lot of history between them, but they are both so busy. At the moment they are just seeing what happens."

Stone and Garfield originally dated on and off for three years before officially ending their relationship in 2015. They've both since said in interviews that they still love each other. (In October 2016, a single Stone called Garfield "someone I still love very much"; Garfield said in December that Stone was his pick to be stuck on a desert island with, because "I love Emma. She's all right. She can come.")

During the Oscars, Garfield appeared to tear up when Stone won her Best Actress award and gave her acceptance speech. They also hugged during the ceremony:

Garfield gushed about Stone on the red carpet and to Vanity Fair in a January podcast. "I'll speak for myself: You know, I'm her biggest fan as an artist," he said. "I'm constantly inspired by her work. I'm constantly inspired by how she handles and holds herself. So for me, I've—it's been bliss to be able to watch her success and watch her bloom into the actress that she is. And it's also been wonderful to have that kind of support for each other. It's nothing but a beautiful thing."

Of their relationship, Garfield also told Vanity Fair, "We care about each other so much, and that's a given, that's kind of this unconditional thing. And there's so much love between us and so much respect."
