Margot Robbie has gone through some extreme transformations for her movie roles (have you seen her as Harley Quinn or Tonya Harding?), and her latest film is no exception. The Australian actress is currently portraying Queen Elizabeth I in her upcoming film, Mary, Queen of Scots, and she was photographed on set sporting a few wigged hairstyles while in costume.

The first was a balding, feathery red hairstyle that nearly matched her burnt orange dress, which was fully equipped with a 17th century collar, voluminous sleeves, and an embellished bodice. The colored wig was a striking contrast to Robbie's pale makeup.

The actress' second hair look was a set of bold red curls, decorated with a gold lace headband or crown that coordinated with her pendant earrings.

It seems Robbie is taking on a number of hairstyles for the role. When she was spotted on set last month, she was donning a different redheaded wig, this time with frizzier curls that appeared to be in an updo. Her dress was different too; the layered charcoal look included a lace-up corset and full skirt with buckle details.

Though Robbie's character has an impressive onscreen wardrobe, Oscar-nominated actress Saoirse Ronan portrays the titled sovereign in the film, Mary Stuart. The period drama follows her life after she's widowed as Queen of France and returns to her homeland of Scotland to reclaim her throne. The quest leads to a rivalry with her cousin, Queen Elizabeth I, who's ruling over England and her native country.

Mary, Queen of Scots is slated to release in 2018, but before you catch Robbie as Queen Elizabeth I, she'll appear onscreen as Daphne Milne, wife of Winnie the Pooh creator A.A. Milne in Goodbye Christopher Robin, which releases November 10.
