Scarlett Johansson is officially single in the eyes of the law, after her divorce from husband Romain Dauriac was finalised this week.

The Avengers actress filed for divorce back in March after two years of marriage and today (September 13) Page Six reports the couple had settled their custody battle and finalised divorce proceedings, with records showing they submitted a sealed settlement in Manhattan Supreme Court on Tuesday.

Together, the couple share a daughter, Rose Dorothy Dauriac, who was born in 2014, with Scarlett and Romain marrying in an intimate ceremony just a month after her birth was confirmed.

In a joint statement to E! News, Scarlett and Romain confirmed their divorce is settled.

"We remain close friends and co-parents with a shared commitment to raising our daughter in a loving and compassionate environment," the statement read.

Scarlett has been busy at work on the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War this year, teasing back in June that we're in for some massive scenes from the estimated 67-character strong film.

"In one particular scene there's like 32 [characters], there's a lot," she revealed. "There's so many of us, I don't know who's a Marvel character and who's a crew member."

The actress plays Black Widow – or Natasha Romanoff – in the Marvel movie universe, and she recently opened up about female sexuality, and how she feels it's important for her to set a good example to her daughter.

"I hope my daughter finds her voice and feels like she can engage anyone in any number of topics," she said.

"I grew up in an environment that encouraged activism, so I never thought about the effect that it would have on my career at any stage.

"But I know it's a luxury, and not everybody has that luxury."

Avengers: Infinity War will be released on 27 April, 2018 in the UK and on 4 May in the US.
