Amal Clooney resumed her fight against ISIS today when she returned to New York to meet with Nikki Haley, the U.S.'s ambassador to the United Nations, and the U.N. Security Council. In their meeting, the council gave the go ahead to the U.N. to help Iraq investigate and collect evidence to hold ISIS accountable for war crimes, the Associated Press reports.

Clooney, who is representing Yazidi victims raped and kidnapped by the terrorist group, has long supported this measure. She's previously urged world leaders to stop enabling ISIS to "get away with genocide" during a talk at the U.N. earlier this year and during a presentation at the Royal Institute of National Affairs in London.

"Yazidis and other ISIS victims want justice in a court of law, and they deserve nothing less," she said at today's conference, according to the AP.

This marks Clooney's first time back at the U.N. since she and her husband George Clooney welcomed twins, Ella and Alexander, in June. Since giving birth, the attorney has been spotted around Italy—she and George are raising their newborns in their Lake Como home—after making her red carpet comeback in Venice on September 2.

Clooney continued to meet with the U.N. during her pregnancy and reportedly planned to go on maternity leave for six months after giving birth, E! reported in May. To date, it has only been three months since the twins were born. It's unclear whether the new mom will continue to appear at work events following this meeting.

As usual, the lawyer donned a polished ensemble, opting for a red blazer and A-line skirt, blood orange pussy-bow blouse, tan bag, and nude pumps.
