Kate Winslet took some time earlier this week to reflect on the special 20+-year friendship she and Leonardo DiCaprio share. "I remember clearly—because of how much cake I ate—but I had my 21st birthday on that film [Titanic, where they first worked together], and Leo had his 22nd birthday. I'm about to turn 42 and he's turning 43 at the end of this year. I know, isn't that crazy?"
Winslet confirmed that the two do indeed still quote Titanic lines to each other and gushed having DiCaprio in her life. "I do feel so grateful for that friendship, and honestly it is like family and one of those rare Hollywood friendships that I feel very, very blessed to have."
She also gets everyone's obsession with them and sympathizes. "I think they [everyone] sort of wish there was like a soap opera version of the story where actually Jack and Rose really did end up together, you know, but no."
