Of women's decisions to speak out, she told Access Hollywood:

"I find it commendable. I don't have a tiny soundbite for you, because I am not a child and I have learned that when I have spoken in anger, I usually regret the way I express myself. So I've been waiting to feel less angry, and when I'm ready, I'll say what I have to say."

Thurman worked with Harvey Weinstein, who has been the subject of many allegations of sexual offences, on several projects his company made, including Kill Bill and Pulp Fiction.

Weinstein is currently being investigated by New York authorities over claims that he raped actress by Paz de la Huerta. The producer has "unequivocally denied" any allegations of non-consensual sex.

Following the interview, which took place at the premiere of The Parisian Woman, many people on social media applauded Thurman's response.
