Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston are going to be spending a lot more time together, as it's been revealed their forthcoming TV show has received a two-season order.

Deadline reports that after a competitive auction, Apple landed the rights to the drama, which first went into pre-production in July and stars Witherspoon and Aniston as journalists for a morning show.

The as-yet-untitled series will feature 10 episodes per season and is written by former House of Cards producer Jay Carson.

And, taking to Instagram on Wednesday evening (November 8), Witherspoon teased "fun things to come".

"So excited to be back and reunited with this one-of-a-kind lady," she said.

"Can't wait for y'all to see what we have in store."

The series is Aniston's first TV project since she wrapped Friends back in 2004, while Witherspoon joins the series as an Emmy-winning star and producer of HBO drama Big Little Lies.

As Witherspoon is busy with this project, the prospect of a Big Little Lies 2 seems further and further away... although a second season is apparently already in development.

Hmm. Witherspoon may just be the queen of the screen in 2018.
