Kim Kardashian West just accidentally revealed the gender of her unborn child. The reality star was chatting to Ellen Degeneres on her show when she let slip that she was expecting a girl.
'We had a baby shower over the weekend, and I thought, 'You know, I really do want to have a baby shower because I want her to feel that something's coming and for her to really understand it',' Kardashian said of four-year-old North. 'So people brought toys and gifts and she was opening them all up the next day. She said, 'Mom, since baby sister's not here, I think I need all of the toys in my room and I'll play with them and just make sure they're all OK for baby sister.''
When Degeneres commented that Kardashian has just revealed the baby's gender, she just laughed and smiled saying: 'Yes it is, it's a girl.'
As the family tends to keep their big news secret so that it can be revealed on their reality show, it is likely that Kardashian really did not intend to let the news slip. She only recently confirmed – in a trailer for the show – that she was expecting her third child. Meanwhile, sisters Khloe Kardashian and Kylie Jenner appear to be waiting to confirm their baby news on the show as well.
While speaking to Degeneres, Kardashian also revealed that she has found having a baby through surrogate much more difficult than she expected because you experience a lack of control.
'Anyone who says or thinks it is just the easy way out is completely wrong,' she said. 'I think it's so much harder to go through it this way.'
