Beyoncé has replaced Taylor Swift as the richest woman in music. According to Forbes, the singer made $105 million (£79 million) this year (pre-tax), thanks to her critically-acclaimed album, Lemonade, and her sell-out Formation world tour.

Adele came second, earning $69 million (£52 million) this year largely as a result of her popular world tour, her first since 2011. Taylor Swift fell to third position, having accumulated $44 million (£33 million) this year. However, her wages are likely to increase this year with the release of new album Reputation, which was launched after the end of this list's scoring period (June 1, 2016 through June 1, 2017).

Celine Dion came fourth with $42 million, thanks to her lucrative Las Vegas residency, a stint that benefitted Jennifer Lopez too, whose gigs there helped her earn $38 million, making her fifth on the list.
