'90s heartthrob Jason Priestley just told a story about the 1995 Golden Globes, and it's going viral. Basically, back in '95, Priestley was playing Brandon Walsh on Beverly Hills, 90210, and was pretty much a household name. And according to the actor, he had a very public altercation with Harvey Weinstein at the Miramax party at the Golden Globes.

It all came out when, following news that Weinstein influenced the casting of the incredibly successful Lord of the Rings franchise, Mira Sorvino took to Twitter. She voiced her devastation at the impact rejecting Weinstein's sexual advances had on her career, as director Peter Jackson confirmed that the producer attempted to blacklist Sorvino, and fellow #metoo activist Ashley Judd, from being cast in the movies. Sorvino wrote:

"Just seeing this after I awoke, I burst out crying. There it is, confirmation that Harvey Weinstein derailed my career, something I suspected but was unsure. Thank you Peter Jackson for being honest. I'm just heartsick."

Performer Tara Strong responded to Sorvino's emotional tweet saying, "wouldn't be surprised if this happened to my good friend @Jason_Priestley who punched Weinstein in the face at a club one night."

Considering the devastating revelations, that Weinstein destroyed lives and careers, the world was ready to hear about Priestley's altercation with Weinstein, and the actor happily shared what happened.

So there you have it. Jason Priestley once punched Harvey Weinstein in the face, at a Golden Globes party in 1995. While Priestley isn't sure if Weinstein influenced his career after that or not, he stands by his decision, as he wrote on Twitter, "I know I never worked for Miramax... and boy was my team HORRIFIED when they heard about what I had done! Harvey was powerful, my team STRONGLY ADVISED me to write him an apology the next day..." But it doesn't sound as though the Beverly Hills, 90210 star ever did.
