The full trailer for Jennifer Lawrence's new film, Red Sparrow, has arrived and it looks gripping indeed.
The Oscar-winning actress plays a young women who is forced against her will to join the Russian secret service. Through a gruelling and dehumanising training process, she becomes a 'sparrow', a lethal, but seductive spy.
Her first task is to bring down a CIA officer who handles the agency's most sensitive infiltration of Russian intelligence, but - as you might have predicted - the two are attracted to one another, which complicates the situation somewhat. The film also stars Charlotte Rampling, Joel Edgerton, Matthias Schoenaerts and Jeremy Irons.
Numerous social media users have compared Lawrence's new role to Natasha Romanova – Scarlett Johansson's character in the Marvel movies – also known as Black Widow.
Regardless, Red Sparrow is released in cinemas nationwide on 2 March.
