This weekend, while thousands of women were marching for their rights across this country and around the world, Ivanka Trump took a stand of her own... and changed her Twitter bio.

Ivanka's bio used to include the phrase "passionate advocate for the education and empowerment of women and girls". Which, let's be honest, feels like a stretch. But it now reads "Advisor to POTUS on job creation + economic empowerment, workforce development & entrepreneurship."

This change isn't exactly surprising—Ivanka's feminist track record is far from perfect. When she took her position as assistant to the president in the White House, she set a goal of promoting a nationwide paid family leave policy. When she proposed a plan for this, legislators weren't loving it. She also wanted to close the wage gap. But last year, when the Trump administration wanted to end an Obama-era policy that prevented pay discrimination, she was totally cool with it, saying the policy wasn't working (and arguing the rules were too burdensome for businesses). So nbd, I guess!

After the 2018 Golden Globes, Ivanka tweeted in support of Oprah Winfrey's speech, writing "Just saw Oprah's empowering & inspiring speech at last night's #GoldenGlobes," she wrote. "Let's all come together, women & men, & say #TIMESUP! #United." But people on the internet were quick to point out the hypocrisy of her statement, given her radio silence regarding the allegations leveled against her father, President Trump.

And then there's that time she went to Japan to speak about women's empowerment, apparently the lecture hall was practically empty.

So yeah, not great. When the Twitter-sphere caught wind of the subtle but important bio change, they took it and ran.
