In ELLE's new April cover story, Kim Kardashian West opens up about her recent experience using a surrogate for the birth of her third child, daughter Chicago West. After suffering from placenta accreta during both of her previous deliveries, doctors suggested Kim use a gestational carrier to have any future children for her own safety. When asked about using a surrogate, Kim told ELLE, 'I hated being pregnant. But as much as I hated it, I still wished I could have done it on my own. The control is hard at the beginning. Once you let that go, it's the best experience. I would recommend surrogacy for anybody.'

And there's a chance she could go the surrogacy route again. During the interview, Kim said that four children would be her maximum because she doesn't think she could handle more than that. 'My time is spread really thin. And I think it's important that in all couples, the mom give the husband as much attentions as the kids.'

Chicago West was born on January 15, becoming Kim and Kayne West's third baby. After Chicago's birth, Kim wrote about the experience on her blog: 'Kanye and I are happy to announce the arrival of our healthy, beautiful baby girl. We are incredibly grateful to our surrogate who made our dreams come true with the greatest gift one could give and to our wonderful doctors and nurses for their special care. North and Saint are especially thrilled to welcome their baby sister.'

Kim's surrogate finally made an appearance on an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians on March 4. While the audience never sees her face, you can see her talking to the Kardashian-Jenner family. In a clip from the episode, Kim says, 'I really didn't know what to expect because I don't really know anyone that's gone through this. It was definitely not as easy as I thought it would be emotionally, but it's so worth it, and our surrogate is such a nice person. My family absolutely loves her, and I'm just so grateful.'
