Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik are in two different states following the announcement of their breakup on Tuesday. They may both be on the east coast, but the 22-year-old model is braving the cold in New York while the 25-year-old singer soaks up the sun over a thousand miles south, in Florida.

Hadid was spotted in New York City today, leaving her apartment with a soft smile and a bright outfit. She rocked a bold red windbreaker over a deep crimson turtleneck (which matched her tinted sunglasses), plaid pants, and black patent booties. She also kept her hair in a high topknot for the brief appearance.

Malik, on the other hand, was seen hanging with friends in sunny Miami yesterday, Us Weekly reports. The former One Direction member sported an unbuttoned printed shirt, red shorts, and red briefs by Tommy Hilfiger (which Gigi is a brand ambassador for).

His tattoo of Hadid's eyes was also still visible on his chest. Zayn was first seen with the ink in January, around the time of his 25th birthday, when he and Gigi were still dating.

Hadid and Malik sent their fans into a massive freakout earlier this week when they confirmed that they were parting ways after two years together. Both stars posted heartfelt statements on Twitter to announce the news.

Zayn tweeted:

Gigi and I had an incredible meaningful, loving and fun relationship and I have a huge amount of respect and adoration for Gigi as a woman and a friend. She has such an incredible soul. I'm grateful to all of our fans for respecting this difficult decision and our privacy at this time, we wish this news could have come from us first. We love you all. xZ

And Gigi wrote:

Breakup statements often seem impersonal because there is really no way to put into words what two people experience together over a few years .. not only in the relationship, but in life in general. I'm forever grateful for the love, time, and life lessons that Z and I shared. I want nothing but the best for him and will continue to support him as a friend that I have immense respect and love for. As for the future, whatever's meant to be will always be. xG

Seeing these two on separate solo appearances is going to take some getting used to.
