The second season of HBO's star-studded series Big Little Lies has begun production.
The limited series was never intended to spin into further seasons, but the show's global success made more episodes inevitable. And now, we have our first look at Big Little Lies Season 2. In a pair of selfies shared by members of the original cast, we're given a glimpse of the actors, and their characters, getting back to work.
In the first, Zoë Kravitz posted a photo of herself in costume, along with the simple caption, "Bonnie's. Back. #BLL2."
Shailene Woodley also posted a selfie, in character, along with a matching caption, "JANES BACK. #letsdothis #BLL2."
Basically, it's time to prepare yourself, because the women of Big Little Lies are reuniting already, which means that Season 2 could be here sooner than you think. While Kravitz and Woodley are the only actors to post about filming so far, hopefully it's a sign that production has begun.
In a statement, Nicole Kidman discussed having the opportunity to make more episodes and said, "This is inspired by the overwhelming response by audiences around the world. What a journey this has been. I'm so grateful to have this opportunity to keep exploring these female characters and make this series with my friends."
And perhaps the biggest piece of news regarding Season 2 is that Meryl Streep is joining the cast as Reese Witherspoon's mother.
