It's a whole 220 days until the Oscars (mark 26th February 2017 in your diaries now), but with the release of some major film trailers this week we're craving cinema season.

Here's our pick of the front runners, watch and see which ones you're backing.

Manchester By The Sea

Having made it's debut at Sundance Film Festival with rave reviews the film tells the moving story of a man (Casey Affleck) coping after the death of his older brother (Kyle Chandler), learns that he is now the legal guardian of his teenage nephew (Lucas Hedges). Also staring the brilliant Michelle Williams.

A United Kingdom

Starring David Oyelowo and Rosamund Pike, this film tells the incredible true story of Seretse Khama, King of Bechuanaland (modern Botswana), and Ruth Williams, the London office worker he married in 1948 in the face of fierce opposition from their families and the British and South African governments. Take tissues.

Arrival

Amy Adams, the most talented woman in Hollywood, is rumoured to win big for her role in this sci-fi about what happens when an alien crafts land across the world. Amy plays a linguist expert recruited by the military to determine whether they come in peace or are a threat.

A Light Between Oceans

If you liked Blue Valentine then prepare yourself for this years tortured love story from the same director Derek Cianfrance. This time Alicia Vikander and Michael Fassbender star in a story about a couple who find a baby in a boat and keep it for their own.

Loving

Another heart breaking love story. This time based on a real story about husband and wife Richard (Joel Edgerton) and Mildred (Ruth Negga) Loving who took their case to the Supreme Court after violating a Virginia law that prohibits interracial marriage in 1967.

The Birth of a Nation

In 1831 Nat Turner, a slave who led a rebellion in Southampton County, Virginia. Prepare to be inspired.

American Honey

Andrea Arnold, the British director who brought us the brilliant Fishtank is back. American Honey tells the story of teens who party and break the law while driving across the Midwest to sell magazine subscriptions. Watch out for lead actress Sasha Lane - she is about to be major.

Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk

Director Ang Lee returns with this film about a young soldier (rising star Joe Alwyn) who having been stationed in Iraq returns to the United States for a hero's welcome at a Thanksgiving Day football game. Kristen Stewart also stars.

The Girl on the Train

If you read the book we know you'll want to watch the film. Emily Blunt leads as a train commuter who investigates a mystery revolving around a couple whose house she passes every day.

ELLE

Love thrillers? You'll like this powerful story about a successful CEO (played by Isabelle Huppert) who tries to learn the identity of the man who raped her. It was the toast of Cannes.

The Founder

Ever wonder who invented the BigMac? This is the story of Ray Croc (Michael Keaton) who transformed a small chain of fast-food restaurants into the multibillion dollar McDonald's Corp.

LaLa Land

Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone reunite for this love story about a jazz pianist ( and an aspiring actress who fall for one another while struggling to make ends meet in Los Angeles.
