Age discrimination is a huge problem in Hollywood—particularly for actresses, whose opportunities and wages begin decreasing as early as their thirties.
You might remember back when You're the Worst actress Aya Cash tweeted decrying the "cuckoo ageism" she's experienced throughout her acting career. Cash challenged the media to do their part: "Your turn reporters. Stop listing ages in articles. I'm not ashamed of my age but of how it's used against me."
Well, now this week in an interview with GQ Jennifer Lopez discussed being age proud and using her 50th birthday as the theme of her “It's My Party” tour.
