Supermodel, actress and businesswoman, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, is on the January cover of ELLE UK's biggest ever fitness issue, she talks candidly about embracing her athletic body, her new workout clothing with M&S, and previously suffering from anxiety.

On opting for workout clothing which highlights her athletic physique:

'I don't like to get hot, or have a lot of stuff touching my skin, I always feel my best in the gym while working out. I love to see my posture and physicality: seeing my body doing the things it's supposed to do… I feel there are a lot of different things a woman's body is expected to be, but my favourite way to see mine is when it's being physical. That's when I feel my sexiest and most powerful.'

On how often she works out:

'Somebody asked me how many times I go to the gym the other day and I said, "You know, five or six times a week, it really depends, but I try to be physical or get my heart rate up at least once a day." They couldn't believe it, but you have to make exercise part of your routine.'

On having suffered from anxiety:

'It's a horrible feeling; there was one particular time when I had terrible anxiety attacks. But I got through it. Those rough patches are always times you can look back on and in hindsight, you can be quite proud of … It gives you a deeper understanding of yourself. Each year, that understanding gives me so much more. It's true what they say: you get more confident, and grounded, and just weed out the bullsh*t.'

Rosie for Autograph Active at Marks & Spencer is out in January 2017.
