The pop princess arrived on stage 30 minutes later than she was supposed to and, according to fan accounts on social media, she broke down in tears at the start of her set.

After performances from both Big Sean and DJ Mustard, fans at the Aviva Stadium saw Rihanna emerge at 9.15pm - when she was scheduled to begin at 8.45pm.

She opened her concert with 'Stay', as she seemingly appeared teary, and supposedly started crying during next track 'Love the Way You Lie'.

As the set went on, however, Rihanna was apparently on fine form and showed no more signs of upset. Phew!

"What a night!!!! Such an emotional show for me!" she later said on Instagram.

"I feel so lucky to have a team like the #Navy man! I'm blessed!! No matter what I'm on you always snatch me out of it! I'm so grateful to have y'all."

Earlier on this year, RiRi was forced to cancel two UK stadium dates - with speculation suggesting this was over a lack of ticket sales.

In better news, the singer recently teamed up with Calvin Harris once again for this summer's banger 'This Is What You Came For' - which you can watch the awesome video for below:
