Jesse Williams - a.k.a. Dr Jackson Avery on ABC television series Grey's Anatomy - just slayed the audience of the 2016 BET awards with a powerful, heartfelt acceptance speech.
And if you haven't seen it yet, prepare to feel all the feels.
The BET Awards stand for Black Entertainment Television and are a celebration of the achievements of African Americans and other minorities in the fields of tv, music, acting and other entertainment genres.
The 34-year-old actor was presented with a humanitarian award for his social activism in America and the speech he delivered in acceptance was fierce and proud and full of the vim and vigour you might expect from the denouement of a block buster film.
Of the choice lines, there was this one:
We love that he gave a particular nod to the black women of the world, who he recognised for nurturing "everyone before themselves," adding, "we can and will be better for you."
